FHTS Water and Sanitation Hygiene (wash) Project

FHTS Water and Sanitation Hygiene (wash) Project

Posted on August 12, 2013 by phriseadmin

Background
Water quality of drinking water and sanitation facility in the developing countries has always been at the lowest levels in the world standards. WASH interventions promoting awareness and knowledge are critical to whole family especially in rural areas which have poor WASH knowledge, attitudes and practices. Optimum WASH infrastructure must be accompanied by a sustained behaviour change and improvement in their knowledge and attitudes which s important for sustained disease reduction (UNICEF, WHO, 2008). FHTS conducted survey based study on Water Sanitation and Hygiene practices in urban poor settings in some parts of South Delhi.

Key Environment and Public Health Message: “To educate individuals about Water Sanitation and Hygiene Practices and Treatment options at low cost should be encouraged”
