IPHSS is designed using combined principles of human centered approach, behavioral and information processing has been utilized. The human centered approach will take into consideration the users, their backgrounds and the tasks the users need to perform. A standalone and an internet enabled interactive surveillance system was designed and developed to monitor the burden of disease conditions living in diverse settings in resource poor settings. Currently the system is currently under evaluation in Nigeria to assess the burden of acute bacterial infections among children living in diverse settings.
